Hello, my name is Cynthia Sliman.  Although new to St. Joseph School I am not new to St. Joseph.  Over 27 years ago I belonged to this parish and served as a lector and taught 8th grade Sunday school.  I teach Algebra every afternoon to a group of very enthusiastic 8th graders and love it!  I received my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Walsh University and was certified to teach math, grades 7-12.  I also teach 3 and 4 year olds at Westbrook Park Nursery School, just a few blocks down from here.  I have been there for 22 years as a parent and 11 years as a teacher.  I feel very blessed to be doing what I have always wanted to do.

I am married to Sam Sliman, Civil service and Annexation Director for the city of Canton.  We have six children, Melissa, a graduate of Central Catholic, the University of Toledo, and the Medical University of Ohio, is married and lives in Columbus.  TJ, a CCHS grad is a fourth year student at Walsh University.  Jessica and Mary Frances, a junior and a freshman respectively at John Carroll University, are also CCHS graduates.  And finally, Sarah, a junior, and Alyson, a sophomore attend Central Catholic High School.  As you probably have surmised I am a firm believer in Catholic Education.

I am honored to join in the rich tradition that is St. Joseph Catholic School.  Thank you, Joellen Esber for this great opportunity.
