WELCOME TO 4th
GRADE
I’m Mrs. Sue Hug
and I will be your child’s homeroom teacher. Mrs. Stoffer will be their Math
and English teacher. This is my second year in Fourth Grade, having taught
Second Grade for 18 years and Sixth Grade for 8 years. I look forward to
working with you and your child this year. The following is a brief description
of some of the topics we will cover this year.
RELIGION- The
focus is on the Commandments, Beatitudes and Sacraments.
We will be
attending Mass every Wednesday at 8:30 throughout the year. We encourage them
to use their church envelopes.
SPELLING- A normal
week will start with new words, alphabetical order, definitions and sentences
on Monday; work in the book on Tuesday; writing 3 times each on Wednesday; play
Sparkle for review on Thursday, and a test on Friday.
READING- As in
previous years Spelling and
HEALTH/SCIENCE- We
will begin our year with Science. We will continue developing skills in the
areas of Life, Earth and Physical Science. Our year will end with one quarter
of Health.
SOCIAL STUDIES- This
year deals with Ohio History. We will learn about the early history of the
state, famous people, our state’s natural resources and state symbols.

I’m very excited
to announce that our class has been chosen by Pellegrino’s Music for a pilot
music program. They will provide the instruments and Ms. Stitchick
from Central will provide the lessons. The instruments will remain at school
and I will provide time for a 15 min. practice each day.
